Docebo: our review
Docebo is a learning management platform (LMS) that uses AI to personalize learning paths, generate content and infer learners' skills. Over 400 integrations and multilingual coverage make it an enterprise choice for upskilling at scale.
What we take away from it
What counts in its favor
- The vendor explicitly states that content provided by customers isn't used to train the underlying AI technologies, whether its own or its providers'.
- Over 400 ready-to-use integrations covering ERPs, video conferencing and HR tools: the LMS slots into the existing ecosystem with no re-entry.
- The platform is certified ISO 27001, 27017, 27018 and 27701, with a SOC 2 report: a level of compliance that speaks to CIOs at large groups and regulated sectors.
What counts against it
- No public price: everything goes through a sales quote, and contracts generally run 3 to 5 years. A small business that wants to compare prices has to enter negotiation with no visibility.
- Data can be transferred and processed in any country where Docebo or its subprocessors operate, with no guarantee of European residency. The transfer mechanism relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which assumes American providers adhere to it.
- The tool is designed for large-scale deployments: a very small business or a nonprofit with fewer than 50 people will pay for a platform oversized for its needs.
A reference LMS for large accounts and mid-caps that can afford a custom deployment. Too heavy and too costly for a small organization, unless ISO 27001 compliance is an absolute requirement.

What happens to your data
- Is your data used to train their models?
- No
- Subprocessors
- Docebo uses cloud infrastructure providers and professional service providers. The vendor publishes a list of subprocessors and states that content provided by customers isn't used to train its own AI technologies or those of its providers. Transfers outside the EU rely on the EU-U.S. DPF.
- Retention
- Data is kept for as long as necessary to provide the service. Beyond that, it's deleted or, if deletion isn't possible, isolated and stored securely until it becomes possible. Billing data may be kept longer for legal reasons.
Docebo in detail
Docebo is a learning management platform born in Italy and deployed worldwide. It's used to create, distribute, and measure learning paths for workforces ranging from a few hundred to several hundred thousand learners. Its distinctive feature is having built AI into nearly every layer: content recommendation, module generation from existing documents, automatic translation, skills inference.
What it actually does
The core of Docebo is a learning management system (LMS) paired with an AI layer called Harmony. In practice, a training manager imports existing documents — slide decks, PDFs, manuals — and Harmony automatically generates structured training modules, complete with quizzes and assessments. The tool then recommends the most relevant content to each learner based on their role, gaps, and history.
The Skills Intelligence module goes further: it infers employees' skills from their interactions with the platform and identifies gaps against the company's needs. It's a human- capital dashboard that lets HR know where to prioritize training, without going through a self-reported survey.
The more recent AgentHub module lets you configure AI agents that carry out training-related tasks: answering learners' questions, suggesting a learning path, generating a progress report.
Docebo also stands out for its integration catalog: more than 400 ready-to-use connectors, from ERPs like SAP or Workday to video-conferencing tools like Zoom or Teams. For a large company that already has a software ecosystem, that's a significant argument.
Why it interests us (or not)
Docebo's strength for a French buyer is its regulatory maturity. The platform is certified ISO 27001, 27017, 27018, and 27701, and produces a SOC 2 report. That's a level of compliance that speaks to CIOs in regulated sectors — banking, insurance, health, pharmaceutical — and that most young companies in the sector lack.
The commitment on training is also explicit: "the content you provide is not used to develop or train any of the underlying AI technologies provided by Docebo or our service providers." In a sector where many tools stay vague on this point, Docebo took the trouble to write it down.
The flip side is twofold. First, the total absence of a public price: everything goes through a sales quote, with contracts generally signed for 3 to 5 years. An SMB that wants to compare Docebo with 360Learning or Didask has to enter negotiation with no price visibility at all. Second, data location isn't guaranteed within Europe: the privacy policy explicitly provides for transfers to countries where Docebo and its subprocessors operate, relying on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Where it falls short
Docebo is designed for large-scale deployments. The price, integration time, and complexity of the tool are calibrated for organizations training thousands of people. An SMB of 50 employees that simply wants to digitize its onboarding will pay for an oversized platform and will miss out on most of the advanced features.
Dependence on a sales quote is another problem. In a market where competitors publish their rates — 360Learning at €8 per user per month, Didask starting at €3 per learner — Docebo asks for an act of faith. For an organization that needs to budget precisely, that's a real obstacle.
Lastly, the no-training promise only covers "content provided by the client" — documents, modules, quizzes. Usage data (clicks, time spent, scores) falls into a gray area the privacy policy doesn't settle as clearly.
Our recommendation
Docebo is a solid choice for a large account or a mid-cap that already has a structured training department and values security certifications. For an SMB, we recommend looking first at 360Learning or Didask, which cover most of the need at a readable price. If you need support choosing your training tool, our consulting service can help you compare options.
Who it's for, and who it isn't
Suited for
- A large group or mid-cap of over 500 people that has to train staff in several countries
- An organization bound by strict compliance requirements (finance, health, pharmaceutical industry) that values ISO certifications
- An HR department that wants to industrialize training and upskilling with a single tool
Not a fit
- An SME or very small business of under 100 people: the cost and deployment complexity aren't justified
- An organization that cannot accept a data transfer outside the European Union
Frequently asked questions
- How much does Docebo cost?
- No price is published. Docebo works by sales quote, with contracts generally signed for 3 to 5 years. The price depends on the number of users, the modules chosen and the level of support. For an SME, a competitor like 360Learning or Didask lists its prices and will be easier to evaluate.
- Is Docebo GDPR-compliant?
- Docebo states it complies with the GDPR and offers a data processing agreement (DPA). The platform is certified ISO 27001 and SOC 2. However, data can be transferred and processed outside the European Union: the transfer mechanism relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which assumes American providers adhere to it. For strictly European processing, this point needs checking during contract negotiation.
- Do you need a technical team to deploy Docebo?
- Deployment is generally supported by Docebo or an integrator partner, and the contract includes an onboarding service. Once in production, day-to-day administration (creating paths, managing users, reporting) is accessible to a training team with no technical skill. However, integration with an ERP or an HRIS requires a technical profile, on the client or partner side.
- Is Docebo suited to training in French?
- Yes. The platform is multilingual and includes automatic content translation features. The user interface is available in French, and training paths can be created and followed entirely in that language. Automatic translation is a paid add-on.
