SaneBox: our review
SaneBox reads the headers of incoming email and moves secondary messages out of the main inbox, without ever storing their content on its servers.
What we take away from it
What counts in its favor
- The entry-level Snack plan costs $9.49 a month with no commitment, or $65 billed once a year — $5.42 a month for one address.
What counts against it
- SaneBox nowhere states the country where its own infrastructure runs, only that it never stores email content, just headers.
A good choice for anyone who wants to keep their email on their own server while automating the sorting. Rule it out if the exact location of header processing has to be known.

SaneBox in detail
SaneBox doesn't import your email: it connects to the existing inbox, reads the headers of incoming messages and moves the lower-priority ones into separate folders, outside the main inbox. Message content stays on the customer's own mail server, at their own email provider.
The entry plan, Snack, costs $9.49 a month with no commitment, or $65 billed once a year (equivalent to $5.42 a month), for a single address. Higher tiers, Brunch and Lunch, add accounts and sorting rules on top of header processing.
The privacy policy and the security page both insist on this point: SaneBox never takes possession of the emails themselves, only their headers, over an encrypted connection. What's missing, though, is the country where SaneBox's infrastructure runs: neither page names it, only the promise never to store the content.
