Cleanvoice: our review
Cleanvoice finds and removes hesitations, silences, and background noise from a podcast recording, then hands back an audio file ready to publish.
What we take away from it
What counts in its favor
- The subprocessors listed in the data processing agreement (DigitalOcean, Runpod, Anthropic Ireland) all host the audio content within the European Union.
What counts against it
- Uploaded files are kept for 7 days after processing before deletion, a delay that won't suit anyone who needs an immediate purge.
A sound choice for a European podcaster who wants to know where the audio goes. Skip it if no trace of a file may remain after export.

Cleanvoice in detail
Cleanvoice analyses a recording to cut out "um"s, noisy breaths, overly long silences and mouth noises, without going back through manual editing. The processed file comes back in the same format as the original.
The entry tier costs $11 a month for 5 hours of processed audio, or $2.20 an hour; the following tiers bring that rate down as volume increases. The data processing agreement, published on the site, names each subprocessor: DigitalOcean for storage in Germany, Runpod and Anthropic Ireland for compute, both located within the European Economic Area. Files, original and processed, stay on the servers for 7 days before automatic deletion.
For a podcast produced in Europe, this documented chain of subprocessors answers the question most competitors leave unanswered. The privacy policy, however, says nothing about any use of the files to train a model.
Who it's for, and who it isn't
Suited for
- A podcaster who edits several episodes a month and wants to automate cleanup without changing editing software
